The dependencies for your projects are specified in a single text file called a Podfile. CocoaPods will resolve dependencies between libraries, fetch the resulting source code, then link it together in an Xcode workspace to build your project. Ultimately the goal is to improve discoverability of, and engagement in, third party open-source libraries by creating a more centralised ecosystem. -

This is particularly helpful when the generation process is fraught with conditionals and loops. You can either use Jbuilder stand-alone or directly as an ActionView template language. When required in Rails, you can create views à la show.json.jbuilder (the json is already yielded). Fragment caching is supported, it uses Rails.cache and works like caching in HTML templates. If your collection cache depends on multiple sources (try to avoid this to keep things simple), you can name all these dependencies as part of a block that returns an array. -

Improves typography on your Jekyll site using typogruby, titlecase, and some other useful functions. Converts an ampersand (ex. &) converts a & surrounded by optional whitespace or a non-breaking space to the HTML entity and surrounds it in a span with a styled class. Surrounds two or more consecutive capital letters, perhaps with interspersed digits and periods in a span with a styled class. Typogruby cap module doesn't support having hyphens so there is a custom module. Converts special characters (excluding HTML tags) to HTML entities. Encloses initial single or double quotes, or their entities (optionally preceded by a block element and perhaps an inline element) with a span that can be styled. Applies smartpants to a given piece of text. Replaces space(s) before the last word (or tag before the last word) before an optional closing element (a, em, span, strong) before a closing tag (p, h[1-6], li, dt, dd) or the end of the string. -

Paperclip
Easy file attachment management for ActiveRecord
Paperclip is intended as an easy file attachment library for ActiveRecord. The intent behind it was to keep setup as easy as possible and to treat files as much like other attributes as possible. This means they aren't saved to their final locations on disk, nor are they deleted if set to nil, until ActiveRecord::Base#save is called. It manages validations based on size and presence, if required. It can transform its assigned image into thumbnails if needed, and the prerequisites are as simple as installing ImageMagick (which, for most modern Unix-based systems, is as easy as installing the right packages). Attached files are saved to the filesystem and referenced in the browser by an easily understandable specification, which has sensible and useful defaults. Paperclip will wrap up to four attributes (all prefixed with that attachment's name, so you can have multiple attachments per model if you wish) and give them a friendly front end.
